Stuck School Bus Results In An Impaired Charge

Just after 10:45 p.m., on Monday, December 23, 2024, Huron County OPP officers were contacted regarding a school bus that was blocking a lane of traffic on Kinburn Line in Central Huron. Police attended the scene, spoke to the driver and determined that the drivers ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired. The driver had allegedly driven three different vehicles and managed to get all three, including the school bus stuck in the snow.
The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Perth County (Listowel) OPP detachment where they completed a series of tests before an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE)
Gregory WILLSHIRE, 52 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with:
Operation while Impaired alcohol and drugs.
The involved vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused drivers license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich on January 20, 2025.
