A Guelph man faces robbery and weapons charges after an employee at a west-end business was threatened by a shoplifter.
Approximately 4:20 p.m. Saturday, a loss prevention employee at a business on Silvercreek Parkway North observed a male placing several items into a backpack and leaving the store. The employee confronted the male and asked him to pay for the items, however the male threatened to kill the employee and fled.
The suspect was identified and on Sunday was located and arrested. He was found to be in possession of a pocketknife, in violation of a bail condition imposed earlier this month following his arrest for allegedly assaulting and threatening employees at two other local businesses.
A 23-year-old Guelph man is charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with a bail order. He was held for bail court Tuesday.

Both males appeared to be white and were wearing jackets, dark-coloured jeans, white shoes, gloves and face coverings.
