Running Stop Sign Results In More Chages For Suspended Driver

On January 1, 2025, shortly after 5;00 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP attempted to conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign in the area of Arnold Crescent. The driver then fled on foot into a residence in the area, and located upon a knock at the door. The driver was confirmed to be under suspension and arrested as a result for driving while under suspension.
as of a result of the investigation the driver, Kwabena KOBIA-BOATEN, 25 years-old, of Alliston, was charge with:
Obstruct Peace Officer
Unlawfully in Dwelling House
Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
Fail to surrender insurance card
Driving while under suspension
Disobey stop sign fail to stop
In addition to the charges, the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on February 2, 2025, to answer to the charges.
