More Impaired Drivers Arrested Names Released

A 41-year-old resident of Whitewater Region (WWR) was charged after encountering a RIDE check in WWR at approximately 8:30 p.m. on December 31, 2024. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of this incident Jose CRUZ OVALLE has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offence:
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 27, 2025. The accused also had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
In addition to the Festive RIDE program results, officers charged a Renfrew resident after a single-vehicle rollover collision on Greenwood Road in Laurentian Valley Township (TLV) on December 30, 2024. Police responded to the collision at approximately 7:30 p.m., both the driver and passenger were not seriously injured. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of this incident 20-year-old Ryan RYE has been charged with the following CC, Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA) offences:
Operation while impaired alcohol
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
Class G1 licence holder unaccompanied by a qualified driver
Novice driver BAC above zero
Driving motor vehicle with liquor
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 27, 2025. The accused also had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
On December 30, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., police responded after a report of a possible single vehicle crash in Bonnechere Valley Township (BVT). Police located the involved vehicle and driver on Sutherland Road and investigation found that no collision had occurred. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of this incident 30-year-old William James SUTHERLAND of BVT has been charged with the following CC offences:
Operation while impaired alcohol
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 15, 2025. The accused also had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
