Attempting To Sell Stolen Property Online Ends With Arrests

On Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 2:45 p.m., officers with the Central Hastings Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded when an individual reported a suspicious ad on an online marketplace.
Officers located the potential sellers and confirmed that the property (an industrial heater) was in fact stolen and had been taken from a construction site in Madoc in November 2024. Two people were arrested at the scene.
Taylor REDMOND, age 34 of Marmora and Lake, was charged with:
Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Careless use of a weapon
Carrying a concealed weapon
Fail to comply with a probation order
Driving while under suspension two counts
This accused was held in custody until a scheduled bail hearing.
Richard HENWOOD, age 34 of Oshawa was charged with
Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000
Fail to comply with a probation order four counts
This accused was released with conditions by the OPP and turned over to the custody of another police service in relation to a separate investigation.
The vehicle the two individuals arrived in was towed from the scene.
