Two Guelph high school students were educated about child pornography offences earlier this month after they were found to have used an artificial intelligence program to create nude images of several classmates.
On January 13, the Guelph Police Service learned from a local school administrator about students in possession of images which appeared to depict other students in the nude.
Investigation revealed two 15-year-old males had used AI to create images of five female students using photos taken from the victims social media accounts. All five are aware of the investigation.
The two subject males were remorseful for their actions and have been referred to an educational program through the John Howard Society in lieu of charges.
