A Guelph man faces assault and mischief charges following a parking lot dispute between two motorists.
Just after 1 p.m. Sunday, police were called to a parking lot on Wellington Street West. Investigation revealed a man, who was a passenger in a vehicle, got upset after another driver honked his horn. The man approached the vehicle and kicked it, causing a large dent.
When the driver of the dented vehicle got out to confront him, the man retrieved a crowbar and held it over his head in a threatening manner.
A 40-year-old Guelph man is charged with mischief under $5,000 and assault with a weapon. He will appear in court March 14.
Home entered overnight
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a south-end home was entered while the tenants slept.
Tuesday morning police were called to a townhouse unit on Edinburgh Road South near Wilsonview Avenue. The resident said he went to bed approximately 11 p.m. and when he awoke the front door was wide open and he saw footprints leading into the living room. Two sets of keys were noted to be missing.

Theft and mischief charges
A Guelph man faces theft and mischief charges after an incident Monday at a business.
Approximately 7 a.m. police received a call from the owner of a business on Edinburgh Road South about two people inside the business causing damage. While one appeared to act as lookout, the other tampered with the coin compartments of laundry machines and was able to remove one of them.
Before leaving the business the male also picked up a candy dispenser and took it with him.
A 21-year-old Guelph man is charged with mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000 and breaching a probation order. He was held for bail and has been released to appear in court March 7.
