Chad LOVEGROVE Was Arrested

On January 22, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., members of the Temagami Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 11, in Temagami.
While speaking with the driver, the officer administered Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS).
As a result of the investigation, Chad LOVEGROVE, 38 years-of-age of Dunnville, Ontario, was charged with:
· Failure or refusal to comply with demand
· Speeding 1-49 Km/h over posted limit
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days. They are scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on February 4, 2025.
Drivers are reminded that the Mandatory Alcohol Screening law allows officers with an approved screening device to demand a roadside breath sample from any lawfully stopped driver without reasonable suspicion of impairment.
