Another Pedestrian Run Down

On March 5, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Wellington County OPP received a report that a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of Belsyde Avenue and Tower Street South within the Town of Fergus. The pedestrian has since been transported by ambulance to a trauma centre with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the motor vehicle involved was not injured.
The intersection is closed in all directions for an unknown amount of time due to the active investigation at the scene. The public is asked to avoid the area.
Currently closed from the intersection:
(West to East) Elora Street is closed to Athol Street Belsyde Avenue is closed to St. David Street South.
(North to South) Tower Street South is closed from Wellington Street to McQueen Boulevard.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting Wellington County OPP with the investigation.
