On December 22nd, 2024, just before 1:55pm, an adult male manager of a business located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road East and Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph, attempted to prevent a lighter valued at $12 from being stolen.
This led to an adult male pushing the manager and a physical altercation that resulted in the male spitting in the managers face.
The male then fled on foot.
On March 5th, 2025, at 10:19am, officers located the male in the downtown core and he was subsequently arrested.
A 42-year-old Guelph male has been charged with Robbery.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 6th.
Collision Results In An Arrest
On March 5th, 2025, at 9:50pm, an adult female driver was involved in a minor motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Willow Road and Applewood Crescent in the City of Guelph.
Police attended on scene and subsequently arrested the female.
A 48-year-old Guelph female has been charged with:
-Operation While Impaired
-Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus
She will appear in court on March 18th.
The females vehicle was impounded for seven days, and her drivers license was suspended for 90 days.
Speeding Leads To An Arrest
On February 21st, 2025, at 3:08pm, a Guelph Police Service officer was conducting speed enforcement near the intersection of Gordon Street and Edinburgh Road South in the City of Guelph.
Police observed a teenaged male driving a motor vehicle southbound on Gordon Street at a speed of 100km/hr in a posted 50km/hr zone while weaving between traffic.
Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, however the male refused to stop, reaching speeds in excess of 110km/hr, swerving between traffic, failing to stop at a red light at the Gordon Street and Arkell Road intersection, and narrowly avoiding a head on collision with another vehicle as he turned eastbound on Arkell Road.
The vehicle was ultimately never stopped as the pursuit was discontinued due to public safety concerns.
Police investigation revealed the identity of the male.
On March 5th, at 2:16pm, police located the male and his vehicle, and he was subsequently arrested.
A 17-year-old Kitchener male has been charged with:
-Flight From Police
-Dangerous Operation
-Drive Motor Vehicle Perform Stunt
-Speeding 100km/hr in 50km/hr zone
The males vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
He will appear in court on April 16th.
Impaired Driving Arrest
On March 5th, 2025, at 1:50pm, the Guelph Police Service received a report of an intoxicated adult male driving a motor vehicle away from a licensed establishment located near the intersection of Victoria Road South and York Road in the City of Guelph.
Police then began searching for the male.
At 2:35pm, the Guelph Police Service received a report that the male had just crashed his vehicle into a snowbank at the back of a commercial parking lot located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Royal Road.
Police located the male at 2:40pm and he was subsequently arrested.
A 41-year-old Puslinch male has been charged with:
-Operation While Impaired
-Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus
-Dangerous Operation
-Breach of Recognizance
-Failure To Comply With Undertaking
He will appear in court on March 21st.
The males vehicle was impounded for seven days, and his drivers license was suspended for 90 days.
Multiple Driving Complaints & Motor Vehicle Collisions
Over the past 24 hours the Guelph Police Service received reports of five driving complaints and two motor vehicle collision occurring throughout the City of Guelph.
