Just after 9 p.m., a witness reported a white sedan had struck a light post at Silvercreek Parkway North and Willow Road. The driver reversed and then continued northbound and pulled into a Tim Hortons drive-through near Speedvale Avenue West.
Officers followed a trail of coolant on the road until it dried up.
The involved vehicle was believed to be a Kia Optima four-door sedan which was white with a black roof. It sustained heavy front-end damage.

Daycare entered, laptops later recovered
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a west-end childcare centre was entered and stolen laptops later recovered downtown.
Staff were called to the daycare at 7 a.m. Monday after staff arrived to find a rear door unlocked. Several laptops and chargers were reported stolen.
On Monday afternoon, officers patrolling downtown entered a social service agency and observed two males sitting at a table with a number of laptops in front of them. The males claimed they had found the laptops discarded in a bag. They were seized by police and further examination confirmed they had been stolen from the daycare.
