Home Invasion Repeat Offender Arrested

Frontenac OPP responded to a serious incident on April 29, 2025, just after 7:30 p.m., at a residence in the Inverary area of South Frontenac Township. An individual had entered a residence and threatened the owners. The suspect fled the area in the homeowners vehicle, which was then involved in a rollover collision on Greenfield Road. The vehicle was engulfed in flames and the individual fled on foot.
South Frontenac Fire Rescue extinguished the vehicle fire and assisted with traffic control. Frontenac OPP officers, assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit, contained the area and requested residents to shelter in place to assist with conducting a search for the individual.
Just after 8:30 p.m., the accused was located on Greenfield Road and taken into custody. He had sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries from the collision.
Ethan THOMPSON , a 24-year-old from Mallorytown, has been charged with:
Robbery with theft.
Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Dangerous operation of a conveyance.
Theft of motor vehicle.
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
Mischief destroys or damages property.
Operation while impaired alcohol or drugs
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Fail to remain at scene of collision.
Breach of probation order.
Drive motor vehicle no licence.
The accused was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston, on June 10, 2025.
