22 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge 178 in an 80

A Frontenac OPP member was on patrol, on Road 38, south of Harrowsmith on May 01, 2025, when a vehicle traveling the opposite direction was locked on a radar unit traveling at a speed of 178 kms/h in a posted 80 kms/h zone. Just after 1:00 am the officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, where the driver exhibited signs of alcohol use.
The driver was requested to provide a roadside breath test, which resulted in an arrest of the driver, who was taken to the Frontenac detachment for further breath testing.
A search of the vehicle found open liquor and cannabis.
William MACDONALD, a 22-year-old from Sydenham has been charged with:
Operation of a conveyance while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.
Dangerous operation
Drive motor vehicle perform stunt excessive speed.
Drive motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor.
Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
The driver was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston, on June 10, 2025. They also had their drivers license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.
