3 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

At approximately 2:24 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2025, Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Angling Road in Townsend, Norfolk County, when they stopped a vehicle and evaluated the drivers sobriety.
As a result, the driver was taken into custody without incident.
62-year-old John WOOTON from Brantford, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:
Operation while impaired alcohol and drugs,
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, Norfolk County OPP officers responded to a single-vehicle rollover involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Charlotteville East Quarter Line Road in Simcoe, Norfolk County.
The investigation determined that the SUV was travelling along Charlotteville East Quarter Line Road when it left the roadway and entered the ditch. No injuries were reported.
As a result, the driver was taken into custody without incident.
During a search of the individual, officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and drug-related paraphernalia.
55-year-old Michael LEENDERSTE from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
Operation while impaired alcohol and drugs,
Possession of a Schedule I substance cocaine.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
At approximately 4:12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, Norfolk County OPP officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a suspected impaired driver on Park Road in Simcoe, Norfolk County.
Officers located the vehicle and subsequently took the driver into custody without incident.
32-year-old Jordan DEPAUW-HAMILTON from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offence:
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
