On May 3, at approximately 11:02 a.m., officers responded to a report of a collision involving two vehicles in a commercial parking lot in Clarence Rockland.
Officers attended the scene and during the investigation requested a driver involved in the collision provide a sample of his breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver failed to provide a suitable sample.
As a result of the investigation, 61-year-old, Luis Fernandez, of Clarence-Rockland, Ontario, was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) with:
Failure or refusal to comply with a demand
The motorist received a 90-day drivers licence suspension, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
They are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in LOrignal on June 11, 2025.
Motorist and residents are encouraged to call 911 when they see someone they believe may be driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
