One Dead – Chelsey KILAR Charged

(SHUNIAH, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad have made an arrest in relation to a fatal collision that happened on Highway 11/17 near Mirror Lake in Shuniah Township on December 17, 2023.

As a result of the investigation Chelsey KILAR, 36-years-old, of Red Rock Ontario has been arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for the following charges under the Criminal Code:

· Dangerous operation causing death



· Operation causing death

· Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 7, 2025

Investigations resulting in the loss of life and serious injuries can be complex to investigate. As the vast majority of fatal collisions are preventable, thorough and accurate investigations help ensure that motorists who cause these collisions are held accountable for their driving behaviors. The victims and their families deserve no less.
