On Thursday, July 24, 2025, members of the Leeds OPP and the MTO, assisted by OPP Emergency Response Team members, located multiple commercial vehicles on secondary roads, avoiding a truck inspection station, which is against the law.
Over a dozen commercial vehicle inspections were conducted, six of which occurred after vehicles were located bypassing the station. A total of 15 charges were laid, and four commercial vehicles were taken out of service.
One driver, 27-year-old Ashraf MOHAMMED of Woodstock, was also charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid, contrary to the Controlled Drug Substances Act, amongst many other traffic-related offences.
Road safety is everyone’s responsibility – including transport drivers.
If you witness dangerous or erratic driving behaviour, contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
