Wingham Police arrested a Wingham area man last night (July 28th) following an investigation into alleged sexual abuse. It is alleged that while the man’s niece was visiting their residence during summer months over the last several years that the man would touch her inappropriately. The man is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. He is to appear in Goderich court on July 30th. The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the alleged victim.

Im so disgusted. Ive just heard today through a family friend of the guy. And Im completley disgusted. His child is in kindergarten with on of my children. And several times he would bring his kid and hover over the fence watching kids play.... (I pray to god he wasnt looking at my little girl) Also I hafta ask, where the hell was his wife when the molesting took place?? And I wonder if CAS is going to be involved to check into weather his own children were molested ?? I hope he gets what he deserves.

Before you start pointing the finger at someone, just remember the term "innocent until proven guilty". Just because you heard something from a friend, or over heard someone talking about this, doesn't mean its true. When this person has his day in court and is found guilty, then let the comments ride. But until then, he is innocent until found guilty.

So yeah, this guy got bail today, and some of our outstanding wingham residents bailed him out...meaning this piece of trash is going to be living in our community. Wonderful.This has nothing to do with his wife, and she cannot be held responsible for this. She found out and left him. We all know that a pedophile will not willingly let anyone know, and to say that his wife should have known is a little far fetched.I hope this guy gets what he desearves. As for his name being protected for the victims identity... I think the victim would want everybody to know what this guy is all about! Someone should really mention this to the police about asking if she wants his name out there and maybe it would get others to come forward if there are any as was said. Once a pedophile always a pedophile in my eyes! Very sad
What i think is very sad and pathetic is that in our criminal justice system, we are harsher on drug violators and scammers. Yes, i do think these thnigs are wrong, however, I think they need to be just as *if not more* harsh on pedofiles! Drugs can ruin someone life, but so can molesting them. I think the people who run our country and make the laws need to sit down and stop focusing on $$$$$ all of the time, and maybe focus on morality and what is right and just.

Another thing is ... say your niece came to you and told you that her uncle... (your boyfriend or husband) had been touching her for some time now... with tears in her eyes..etc.. would you not believe your own niece when she has no reason to make things up she just needed to get it off her chest and wanted her family to know.. you think her aunt would be there for her especially her aunt (the one with the boyfriend who did this) You think she would want to sit down with her niece and talk about it!!
