North Huron council is still strongly defending the Hometown Security Act (10-2016) that grants town staff new “right of entry” and access to your bedrooms, living rooms, medicine cabinets and every nook and cranny in your home that they see fit, after they kick your doors in or rip the bars off your windows. If's for your own good, so you really shouldn't complain, unless you want regular inspections of course.
To quote town council this new law makes “it Illegal for people to create non-breakable barriers to their property which would prevent fire services, police, and EMS personnel to enter the property”.
So, how do they decide who gets inspected? Who decides if that video camera was put up to deter criminal behavior including town staff that have threatened the wife and children in that building? Well, that will be up to town staff of course, so you better start kissing council and town staff's asses so they don't slate you for regular inspections.
The argument that was put forward that convinced North Huronn council to pass the Hometown Security Act was they just know people are up to “this and that”.
If you need this new law explained to you, call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for information.
