Repeat Offender Arrested For Harriston Car Theft

Investigation revealed that a red Saturn automobile had been stolen from the caller’s residential driveway in Harriston sometime after 9:55 p.m. on Thursday February 11th. The person involved in the theft of the vehicle, notified the Harriston resident that the stolen vehicle had been left along Hwy 23 near Listowel.
The extensively damaged vehicle was located in the West ditch along Hwy 23 north of Line 87. The victim and officers were able to ascertain the identity of the person responsible for sending the message to the Harrriston resident. This person was located by police at a Listowel residence shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Friday February 12th
22-year-old Dustin James LUNZ was arrested and has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
Theft under $5000 of a motor vehicle
Driving while disqualified
Possession of property obtained by crime
Fail to comply with probation order X3
He has also been charged with the following Highway Traffic Act of Ontario offences:
Careless driving
Fail to remain at the scene of an accident
Fail to report accident
Driving while under suspension
He remains in custody and will be appearing in Stratford Court on February 22, 2016 to answer to the charges.
