25 Year Old Caught Drunk Driving Snowmobile

On Friday, December 22, 2017 at approximately 5:42 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to attend a single motor vehicle collision that took place on Cransford Line. A witness called police to report the crash and to advise police the driver was suspected to be intoxicated.
Police also learned the driver got picked up at the crash scene and had just returned to the scene operating a snowmobile. Upon arrival the investigating officer spoke with the driver and also made several observations of the driver that his ability to drive was impaired by alcohol.
He was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.
Wesley BOYES, 25 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motorized Snow Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 22, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
He also received an automatic 90-day driver's licence suspension and his vehicle was towed and impounded.
