Early this morning around 12:30 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Dodge pickup travelling westbound on Britannia Road without a rear licence plate. The patrol officer followed after the vehicle and upon activating his emergency lights at the intersection of Britannia Road & Waterloo Street the suspect driver turned northbound onto Waterloo and began to pull over. As the vehicle was coming to a stop the officer watched as the driver and passenger climbed across each other and switched seats.
Upon speaking with the driver, who was now seated in the passenger seat, the investigating officer was able to confirm her identity. Some additional checks were made and it revealed the driver was wanted for failing to attend court. Additionally, it was learned the driver held a suspended driver's licence.
Katherine UPSHALL, 43 years of age, from Huron East has been charged with two counts of Driving While Under Suspension. She was held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for today's date at the Huron County Courthouse in Goderich.
