Aug 6
JRCC reported a sail boat wedged on a rock in shallow water. OPP transported owner into Picton to make arrangements to have boat towed
Sandbanks report of two females possibly drowned. Both females revived and transported to Picton Hospital by EMS.
Motorcycle vs. golf cart on the Millennium trail in Wellington. Three people injured with non-life threatening injuries. William Wright a 28 year old male from Consecon was charged in contrary to the Off Road Vehicle Act section 16 - careless driving.
Aug 7
Tow Company contacted police regarding a vehicle in the ditch and driver appeared to be impaired. Vehicle later stopped and driver arrested for impaired. Vehicle towed, Paul Widner a 57 year old male from Toronto was charged.
Ontario Premier in the County to make an announcement. Police stood by while a small group of protestors voiced their concerns.
Police attended a Johnson Street address in Picton with reports of a domestic occurrence. Once investigated a 32 year old male was arrested and charged with one count domestic assault and one count domestic mischief. Names not released to protect the victim
Police responded to reports of a possible impaired driver on Country Road 12 near Sandbanks Provincial Park. Vehicle located, a 27 year old male from Quebec was issued a three day licence suspension
Aug 8
Two vehicle collision on Highway 62 near Victoria Road. Media release sent out regarding this occurrence
Bayfield Treatment Center contacted PEC OPP to advise that two female residents had run away from the home. Extensive patrols done with negative results. Surrounding OPP detachments notified. Both youth returned later that evening without incident.
Aug 9
Commercial motor vehicle inspection on Belleville Street Wellington resulted in a 52 year old male truck driver being charged with operating a motor vehicle with no valid CVOR
Police responded to a report of a 5 year old child missing while playing on the beach at Sandbanks Provincial Park. Child located by a third party and returned to the family.
During a RIDE initiative, police stopped a vehicle and the driver was found to have a suspended licence due to unpaid fines. Notice of suspension served and vehicle removed by another licenced driver
Aug 10
Reports of a boat being vandalized. 2 engines damaged and fuel contaminated. Boat was in a storage facility on County Road 18 at the time of being vandalized but was since moved to owners cottage in Kingston. OPP Frontline Support Unit investigating
2 vehicle collision on Paul St. No injuries, Driver charged with start from stopped position not in safety.
Bayfield Treatment Center worker reported one youth at the residence threw a rock damaging his trucks windshield and scratched the hood. No charges, Bayfield to handle occurrence internally.
While conducting a RIDE on CR 12 Officers observed a vehicle attempt to turn around to avoid the stop. One male arrested and charged for impaired. Media release sent out regarding this occurrence.
Bayfield Treatment Center staff reported being threatened to assault staff. Reported to police and warning issued to youth.
Aug 11
Police responded to a report of a large fight at Sandbanks Provincial Park. Police spoke with a large group who all denied seeing anything.
7 day stunt drive charge was issued on a 21 year old male from Quinte West who was stopped on County Road 19 travelling over 2 times the posted speed limit.
2 youth reported missing from Bayfield Treatment Center. Patrols conducted with negative results. Both females reported returned later in the evening.
Aug 12
While doing traffic patrols, police conducted a vehicle stop and a driver was charged with driving under suspension.
At another traffic stop a driver with interlock restrictions was driving a vehicle not equipped with an interlock. Male charged accordingly.
Prince Edward OPP officers investigated 9 accidental 911 calls, 6 motor vehicle collisions, and 22 traffic related incidents. 7 RIDE programs were also conducted during this time period.
