Driver Impaired By Drug

Officers located the driver and vehicle in a gas station parking lot and after a brief conversation, determined that her ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired. Police also observed marihuana cigarettes in a baggy on the front seat of her vehicle. A Standard Field Sobriety test was conducted which she performed poorly and subsequently was placed under arrest. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing however she refused to comply with the evaluation.
65-year-old Danuta LOJEK of Hamilton has been charged with Evaluation Demand Not Complied With - Motor Vehicle and Possession of Schedule 2 Substance - Marihuana Under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 18, 2018 to answer to the charges.
Her driver's Licence was suspended and vehicle impounded as per statute.
