Police attended and while speaking with the driver of the vehicle formed the opinion that she was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. Due to medical concerns she was taken to a local hospital and unable to provide a sample of breath for analysis. A sample of blood was provided and sent to the Centre of Forensic Science (C.F.S.) for analysis.
As a result of the December 16, 2018 findings from C.F.S., 19-year-old Bailey Christine EVANS of Guelph has been charged with having the Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle while her Blood Alcohol Concentration was Over 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100mL of Blood. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 22, 2019.
