Driver Charged For Having Weed In Back Seat

At approximately 1:45 p.m., officers investigated the driver of a motor vehicle that entered into the checkpoint. While speaking with the driver, officer's detected a strong odour of fresh marihuana inside the vehicle. The driver retrieved and surrendered a large Ziploc baggy from the backseat area that contained marihuana.
43-year-old Daniel BRIDGE of Elora has been charged with Possession Over 30 grams contrary to the Cannabis Act and Unlawful Purchase of Cannabis contrary to the Cannabis Act 2017. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 12, 2019 to answer to the charges.
