Cyclist Airlifted To Hospital Following Hit And Run

Just after 6:00 a.m. South Bruce OPP, Tiverton Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedic Services responded to the scene of a fail to remain motor vehicle collision on Lake Range Road (Bruce County Road #33) south of Bruce Concession Road 10.
Upon arrival officers located an injured cyclist. He was transported from the scene to a local hospital whereupon he was subsequently transported by air ambulance to a regional hospital. The injured cyclist, a 58-year-old from Port Elgin, has since been released from hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators determined the victim was travelling southbound on Lake Range Road when he was struck by a pickup truck that was also travelling southbound. The driver of the pickup truck failed to remain at the scene of the crash.
Investigators have since been able to identify the driver of the pickup and charges are pending.
