(COUNTY OF WELLINGTON, ON) - It can be anything from a frustrated driver who delivers an unpleasant hand-gesture to a full on physically violent highway confrontation. Anytime that a driver responds aggressively to a negative emotion while driving is "Road-Rage". Many of these incidents don't get reported so it's hard to say precisely how frequent it occurs but one time is too many. Drivers need to be responsible for their own driving habits before they focus on others (as I'm sure we've all done something that annoyed another driver). We need to keep calm and relax. Driving down the highway is no time to lose your cool. Here's a few tips to remember.
Don't take it personally.
Never try to confront and correct another driver.
If you do find yourself being confronted call 911 and remain in your car.
Call police if you see risky driving behaviour that putts others at risk.
Remember to relax and take a breath and remain calm. If you're a vengeful driver there's no room for you on our highways.
