Investigators have learned that on October 31, 2020 at approximately 1:30 a.m. a driver was travelling southbound on Lucknow Line between Dungannon and Carlow when the victim was pulled over by a suspect vehicle with blue & red flashing lights.
A male suspect exited and approached the driver and began questioning the victim to the point the victim felt very uncomfortable and quite suspicious of the interaction. The victim remained in her vehicle and proceeded to report the incident to police.
The male suspect is described as being around 5'9", with a slender build. He has dark, short hair with some scruffy facial hair. He was wearing cargo pants, a cheap looking tactical vest with no duty belt, a short-sleeve dark t-shirt with "Police" written in white or grey lettering.
The suspect vehicle is described as a sport utility vehicle (SUV), dark in color, possibly grey, navy or black with a light bar on top.
Note: citizens may ask to see an officer's badge and warrant card. Some officers and off-duty officers may not be wearing uniforms but they will be able to provide you with the name of their service, detachment, badge number, rank, and produce a badge and warrant card without delay.
Motorists who suspect they have been pulled over or confronted by a police impersonator should lock their doors and immediately call 911. Do not get out of your vehicle. If possible, try to write down a description of the person, their vehicle and their license plate as soon as it is safe to do so.
